About This Spot

Step inside Mainely Lobster & Seafood and you’re immediately wrapped in the comforting embrace of a cozy, neighborhood treasure. Nestled quietly on Military Turnpike in Plattsburgh, this unpretentious spot hums with a gentle rhythm that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. The modest décor whispers of seaside memories—the kind you bring back from a Maine shore, where salt air and fresh catch shape the day.

The pace here is easygoing without feeling sleepy. It’s a place where familiar faces meet new ones around worn wooden tables, where attentive, warm service is part of the fabric and the feeling of genuine welcome lingers long after the meal. The atmosphere finds a balance between laid-back and carefully curated comfort, a reflection of longtime local pride and the simple joy of sharing seafood at its freshest.

Walking through the door, the scent of butter and briny ocean breeze—almost palpable through the kitchen’s open energy—hints at the treasures to come. Whether it’s a buttery lobster roll melting into your hands or a steaming bowl of rich chowder that feels like a hug in a bowl, each bite is a whispered promise of hard work paired with a reverence for tradition. From crispy fried oysters to tender scallops or a generous helping of shrimp in mac and cheese, the menu taps into classic coastal favorites without rushing your choice or your meal.

This is not just about nourishment but about moments: the clink of glasses filled with water kept replenished, the shared delight over a bountiful seafood casserole, the quiet satisfaction that comes from supporting a local spot where you can tell the family’s heart beats in every dish. Here, making you feel at home is as natural as pulling cracked lobster shells from your fingers. It’s a small place where laughter and stories mingle with the aroma of fresh catch, and the kind of service that remembers special dietary needs without missing a beat.

For those discovering Mainely Lobster & Seafood for the first time or returning for familiar flavors, it feels like a secret anchor to Plattsburgh’s maritime spirit—a place to find comfort in good food, down-to-earth hospitality, and the timeless rhythm of the coast.

I’m glad we decided to stop in. Roll and butter and nice glasses of water were kept full. We enjoyed all you can eat haddock and baked seafood casserole. Food was hot, tasty, and you can tell it’s a mom and pop place. I was happy to support this excellent establishment. Service was polite and I look forward to my next visit to Plattsburgh!

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time today. We were beyond impressed! The restaurant is very clean, bathrooms are very clean, and restaurant is tastefully decorated in a cozy comfortable seafood environment. Our waitress Melanie was terrific! We joked about the sign posted near our table, “Beware of the Attack Waitress”. Melanie was authentically friendly, kind, and very professionally attentive to serving us. We loved our food and went home with leftovers! Haddock, Scallops, and Baked Potatoes were cooked perfectly! We each got an order of broccoli and shared some tuna macaroni salad. We will be repeat customers for sure! This meal and quality service made our day!!! You will not be disappointed and we can clearly see why this restaurant has been in business over 30 years! THANK YOU!

A cute little diner style restaurant tucked away in a small shopping area. Would not have guessed the food was going to be yummy, but Surprise, surprise ! Such fabulous service and the food were delicious. Our amazing waitress, whose name I can not recall was super kind when we told her our My sister in law has celiac disease. Her cheery attitude and accommodating demeanor made our evening ! I had the scallops, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and, of course, a twin lobster . It did not disappoint. One additional note .. the food was not overly salty, which is an A+ in my book! I definitely recommend if you are in the area..

This place is so good! They go to Maine twice a week to get the seafood fresh. The amount of seafood in each dish is surprising. It's definitely worth the price. It's reasonable as well. It is bring your own beer too.

We arrived 30 minutes prior to closing when we were visiting the area for a LAX tournament. The entire waitstaff was so welcoming and friendly! They didn't rush us even though we arrived so close to closing. The food was amazing! They travel to Maine twice a week for seafood. The clam chowder was better than my favorite Maine restaurants. Laid back relaxing restaurant with an incredible, attentive staff. Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely visit again if in the area.

This place is an absolute gem. To be able to go to a legit lobster and seafood joint in upstate NY is such a blessing. Everything they have is good. The seafood chowder, lobster rolls, and fried whole belly clams aren’t to be missed. Prices are very reasonable too. Not to be missed. One million stars.

Amazing place. The staff were simply incredible. They were friendly, professional (very professional), knowledgeable, and, well, amazing. The atmosphere, great, exactly what you would expect a fish joint to look like that's been around for 34 years, and very clean. The food. Simply amazing as well. Starter, we shared a bowl of fish chowder, so fresh, the fish so tender, we loved it. Mains,I had the whole belly clam with fries and coleslaw. Tasted great, so fresh, you would think you were in Portland, fries, homemade and it tastes it. Coleslaw, I prefer creamy, this was not, and, no surprise, I liked it. Wife had the. Seafood casserole and fried and coleslaw. If she could 10 out of 5 on the casserole, she would. Creamy, fresh, delicious, the shrimp and scallops tender to perfection, the haddock just right. So yes, highly recommend the place.
